Non-Involuting Congenital Hemangioma (NICH) Complicated by Late Sudden Necrosis and Scarring

Congenital hemangiomas (CHs) are benign vascular tumors present at birth and categorized into rapidly involuting, non-involuting, and partially involuting subtypes. They usually follow a benign course and may be associated with mild complications such as ulceration, pain, or localized thrombosis. Thrombosis is typically self-limited and local, and can be managed without systemic anticoagulation therapy. We report a pediatric patient without systemic coagulopathy who has a CH with thrombosis leading to total necrosis and near-complete regression.
