Clinical Sampling Challenges in Diagnosing Severe Respiratory Viral Infections

Lower respiratory tract (LRT) sampling detects more respiratory viruses in severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) patients than upper respiratory tract (URT) sampling. LRT sampling improves diagnostic sensitivity and should be considered for SARI patients.
