Abstract:
Concerns about primary care access in North Carolina are intensifying. The Primary Care Clinician (PCC) Index analyzes the ratio of PCCs to the North Carolina population across the state's 100 counties. Between 2017 and 2024, the number of counties not meeting the 1500 people to 1 PCC ratio decreased from 36 to 20.
