Fast-flying insects, like bees, have long eluded high-resolution, scientific tracking. A new study, using a novel, multi-copter drone-based system that follows foragers in three dimensions, demonstrates that honey bees are idiosyncratic, precise flyers that flexibly adjust their use of navigational tools.
