Estimating malaria attributable fraction using quantitative PCR in a longitudinal cohort in Eastern Uganda

Persistent, asymptomatic Plasmodium infections are common. This study estimated the malaria attributable fraction (MAF) of fevers, finding that current clinical malaria definitions underestimate true incidence, especially in adults.
