Recruitment of anesthesiologists has become increasingly challenging, prompting many practices to reassess and refine their strategies. Five years ago, our academic anesthesiology department established a dedicated recruitment team to address the evolving labor shortage and to improve organization and efficiency in our processes. Notably, we involved early-career faculty members to engage with candidates and assist in interview planning. Our approach has enabled our department to maintain adequate staffing, with 116 faculty members hired over five years, with an interview-to-hire ratio of 2.1 and a median time-to-hire of 92 days.
