Purpose of the Study:

To explore practical nurses' perceptions and engagement with sustainability in telehomecare.
To identify barriers and facilitators to sustainable practices in digital nursing.

Main Methods:

Qualitative exploratory study design.
Semi-structured interviews with ten practical nurses in telehomecare (Finland, Feb-Apr 2024).
Data analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis.

Main Results:

Identified themes: 'Emerging Eco-Consciousness in Telehomecare' and 'Constrained Eco-Engagement in Telehomecare'.
Nurses showed limited awareness and fragmented understanding of sustainability in healthcare.
Engagement was constrained by responsibility issues, balancing values, and limited decision-making involvement.

Conclusions:

Healthcare professionals and leaders need greater consciousness of sustainability's role.
Targeted education on environmental issues and sustainable practices is crucial for climate-health literacy.
Ethical, green leadership is vital to support organizational shifts toward sustainable healthcare.
