Abstract:
Multinary tellurates, particularly those with quaternary and ternary compositions, form a unique group of compounds known for their diverse structural frameworks and notable electrochemical properties. This review brings together current knowledge about these materials, organizing them based on their main mobile cation families (namely, alkali, alkaline-earth, and coinage metals) and highlighting their promise in energy storage applications and beyond. Beyond simply reviewing these material classes, it also suggests future research directions aimed at establishing multinary tellurates as versatile functional materials in the swiftly evolving field of next-generation energy storage and related technologies.
