Altered spectral patterns of aperiodic electroencephalography in autism

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) may involve altered neural excitation/inhibition (E/I) balance. This study found flatter EEG spectral slopes in autistic adolescents and adults, linked to symptom severity and cognitive challenges.
