Abstract:
Thymic epithelial tumors (TETs) are rare malignancies originating from thymic epithelial cells, comprising thymomas and thymic carcinomas. The heterogeneity of TETs poses significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges, necessitating the identification of reliable biomarkers to improve classification and treatment stratification. The integration of multiomic approaches and artificial intelligence are transforming biomarker discovery, offering new insights into TET pathogenesis and therapeutic vulnerabilities. However, clinical translation of these biomarkers remains limited due to the rarity of these diseases, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts to accelerate the development of novel therapeutics. Future research focusing on biomarker-driven precision medicine will be essential for enhancing risk stratification and advancing targeted therapeutic strategies in TET management.
