Summary

Two swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) devices show strong agreement in detecting intraocular lens (IOL) glistening. Concordance is high for low glistening grades, but one device detects more hyperreflective foci at higher grades.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the agreement between two swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) devices for quantifying IOL glistening.
  • To compare the performance of Anterion and Triton SS-OCT devices in detecting and measuring HRF.

Main Methods:

  • A cohort of patients with prior cataract surgery was enrolled.
  • Sequential examination using Anterion and Triton SS-OCT devices.
  • Manual counting of HRF and categorization of glistening grades; intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) analysis.

Main Results:

  • 333 eyes from 285 patients were analyzed.
  • High agreement (ICC 0.8-0.9) between devices for IOL glistening assessment.

  • Strong concordance between Anterion and Triton SS-OCT devices, especially for lower glistening grades.
  • Discrepancies in higher glistening grades warrant further investigation regarding device-specific sensitivity.
