Background:

Temporal order judgments (TOJs) are crucial for perception.
Pre-cue effect: cue before targets leads to perceived earlier appearance on cued side.
Post-cue effect: cue after targets leads to perceived later appearance on cued side.

Purpose of the Study:

To investigate the influence of peripheral cues on TOJs.
To determine if pre- and post-cue effects persist when response biases are minimized.
To assess the robustness of peripheral cues in temporal perception.

Main Methods:

Participants performed TOJs with visually presented targets.
Cue location and response direction were arranged orthogonally to minimize confounding factors.
Analysis focused on the persistence of pre- and post-cue effects.

Main Results:

Both pre-cue and post-cue effects were observed.
These effects persisted even when cue location and response direction were orthogonal.
