A case report of the world's biggest renal cell carcinoma successfully removed

Introduction And Importance:
To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of the successful removal of the biggest renal cell carcinoma mass described in the literature so far.
Case Presentation:
A 66-year-old male was diagnosed with papillary renal cell carcinoma in a previously performed biopsy. Preoperative imaging showed massive fluid - solid lesion of the most probable exit point from left kidney. The procedure was successfully performed by laparotomy with maintaining the continuity of the tumor tissue with the best possible macroscopically negative margin. The surgery was completed with minimal complications and trace blood loss. The final tumor weight was 14.2 kilograms. The patient recovered well and was discharged in 5th postoperative day.
Clinical Discussion:
The advanced tumor size and altered anatomy complicate standard surgical approach. A great deal of experience and excellent knowledge of anatomy were crucial to perform such an operation.
Conclusion:
Based on the found literature, this is the largest malignant kidney tumor successfully removed in the world so far.
