Late-onset complete atrioventricular (AV) block can occur after Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR). Left bundle branch pacing (LBBP) offers a physiologic solution for these conduction abnormalities.
Area of Science:
- Cardiology
- Interventional Cardiology
- Electrophysiology
Background:
- Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) is associated with conduction system injury.
- Late-onset atrioventricular (AV) block post-TAVR is not well-characterized.
- Predictors and timing of late AV block after TAVR require further investigation.

Electrocardiogram Fundamentals
An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a diagnostic tool for identifying cardiac conditions such as arrhythmias, conduction abnormalities, and myocardial ischemia.
Definition
An electrocardiogram (ECG) visualizes the heart's electrical activity by tracing the electrical movement associated with each heartbeat on a graph or monitor. As the heart beats, an electrical wave passes through it, correlating with the cardiac cycle events.
