Abstract:
A metal-free, photoinduced cyclization-hydrolysis sequence has been developed that converts readily available isocyanides and (2-methyl-)1,3-dioxolane into formyl- and acetyl-substituted N-heteroaromatics. This method operates under mild conditions using aerial oxygen as the sole oxidant, eliminating the need for external oxidants. It offers operational simplicity, broad substrate scope, and good functional group tolerance.
