Wideband polarized beam combiner with low thermal rise property for a high-brightness blue laser

Wideband thin-film polarized beam combiners (PBCs) for blue lasers were designed and fabricated using magnetron sputtering. The absorptance and polycrystalline structure of the thin film were investigated to achieve low thermal rise under laser irradiation. The resulting PBC contributed to increasing the energy output from the blue laser while maintaining high beam quality.
