Purpose:
To evaluate the distribution of occlusal load and functional outcomes in patients receiving precision attachments for the replacement of bilateral edentulous mandibular posteriors.
Materials And Methods:
A clinical study was conducted involving 30 participants with bilateral edentulous mandibular posteriors. Custom precision attachments were fabricated and assessed for their load distribution using a pressure-mapping system. Functional outcomes, including patient satisfaction and masticatory efficiency, were measured using validated questionnaires and clinical tests.
Results:
Precision attachments demonstrated uniform load distribution across the prosthesis, reducing stress on residual ridges. High levels of patient satisfaction and significant improvement in masticatory efficiency were observed. Statistical analysis showed a correlation between load distribution and patient-reported outcomes (P < 0.05).
Conclusion:
Precision attachments provide an effective solution for load distribution in bilateral edentulous mandibular posteriors, improving function and comfort for patients.
