Background:
Osteolytic lesions of the jaw pose significant diagnostic challenges due to their varied etiology. Precise evaluation of bone conditions is essential for effective management.
Objective:
This study aims to assess the bone condition in osteolytic lesions of the jaw using advanced diagnostic imaging techniques and analyze their diagnostic value.
Materials And Methods:
A cross-sectional study was conducted with 50 patients presenting osteolytic jaw lesions, assessed using Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), Digital Volume Tomography (DVT), and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Imaging outcomes were correlated with histopathological findings.
Results:
CBCT demonstrated superior cortical bone delineation, while MRI was more effective for soft tissue invasion. DVT provided comparable sensitivity but required extended processing time. A combination of modalities offered the highest diagnostic accuracy.
Conclusion:
Higher diagnostic imaging techniques significantly enhance the detection and characterization of osteolytic lesions, underscoring their role in clinical decision-making.
