Background:

• Evidence-based practice (EBP) is critical for enhancing patient outcomes in dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS).

Purpose of the Study:

• To evaluate the knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) of evidence-based practice (EBP) among dental and OMFS professionals nationwide.
• To identify barriers affecting EBP implementation in Indian dental and OMFS practices.

• A cross-sectional survey was administered to 2,634 dental professionals using a validated questionnaire.

• OMFS postgraduates demonstrated superior knowledge and practice scores. Key barriers included time constraints (74%), resource access (61%), and inadequate training (59%).

Conclusions:

• While dental professionals express positive attitudes towards EBP, its consistent clinical application remains a challenge.
• Addressing the knowledge-practice gap requires enhanced institutional support, better resource accessibility, and structured training programs for effective EBP integration.
