Collagenous sprue (CS) is a rare enteropathy causing severe malabsorption. Early recognition, medication review, nutritional support, and steroids can improve symptoms, but relapse and mortality remain significant.

- Histologic improvement was observed in 74% of cases with follow-up biopsies, but relapse occurred in 31% and mortality was 23%.
