Robotic-Assisted Total Hip Arthroplasty in Combined Short Stature and Crowe-IV Developmental Hip Dysplasia: A Case

Case:
We report the management and functional outcome of Crowe-IV developmental dysplasia of the right hip in a 32-year-old man with short stature. Surgery involved robotic-assisted reaming of the acetabulum, 4 cm subtrochanteric shortening osteotomy, and total hip arthroplasty (THA) with a modular S-ROM stem. There were no complications. The Harris Hip Score improved from 52.65 to 90 at 2-year follow-up. This is the first reported case of CT-planned robotic execution of THA for these concomitant conditions.
Conclusion:
CT-based planning with robotic arm-assisted execution provides excellent radiographic and early functional results, anatomic limb correction, and acetabular component control.
