Abstract:
We investigate thermalization of one-dimensional lattices with asymmetric interactions. For the FPUT-αβ lattices with different boundary conditions, we observe distinct thermalization behaviors. Specifically, we find that the Toda lattice with free boundary conditions exhibits asymptotic integrability, which accounts for these differences. The FPUT-αβ lattice and the Toda lattice with free boundary conditions should be classified as a perturbed Harmonic lattice. The scaling relationship between the thermalization time and the specified perturbation strength remains consistent with the predictions of the wave turbulence theory. The impact of internal pressure on the scaling relationship is also briefly discussed.

The concept of temperature has evolved from the common concepts of hot and cold. The scientific definition of temperature explains more than just our sense of hot and cold. Temperature is operationally defined as the quantity measured with a thermometer. Furthermore, temperature is...
Thermal Sigmatropic Reactions: Overview
Sigmatropic shifts are classified based on an order term [i, j ], where i and j indicate the number of atoms across which each end of the σ bond migrates. Below are examples of a [3,3] sigmatropic shift in 1,5-hexadiene, referred...
