Abstract:
Monitoring organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs) in food requires sensitive and reliable analytical methods. In this study, electrospun poly (acrylonitrile-co-maleic acid) composite fibers doped with lignin derived from coconut biomass were developed as a solid-phase extraction sorbent for the determination of trace OPPs in fruit juices by GC/MS. The incorporation of renewable lignin provides a low-cost biomass-derived component and introduces functional groups that enhance adsorption interactions within the sorbent. The composite fibers were fabricated by electrospinning and optimized for the extraction of OPPs. Optimal conditions were pH 7.0, 0.10% (w/v) NaCl, a sample flow rate of 0.83 mL/min, and desorption with 700 μL ethyl acetate for 15 min. The method exhibited good linearity over 0.25-20 μg/L, low LODs (0.07-0.12 μg/L), and LOQs (0.23-0.39 μg/L), satisfactory precision (RSDs ≤9.2%) and recoveries of 66.8-99.9%. These results demonstrate that renewable lignin-doped composite fibers provide an effective for pesticide analysis in food matrices.
