Embedding Evaluation in Credentialing Systems: A Nursing Education Quality Improvement Initiative

Student evaluations of clinical sites and instructors are essential for maintaining high-quality nursing education. However, traditional evaluation methods often result in low response rates from students and face administrative challenges. This article discusses the evaluation of a quality improvement initiative that integrated clinical site and instructor evaluations into an existing digital platform used for credentialing and clinical placement at a college of nursing in the Southeastern United States. The initiative produced a 25.1% increase in student response rates, reduced administrative workload, and facilitated the gathering of meaningful feedback to improve clinical experiences. The higher student participation provided actionable data that can help enhance the quality of clinical education.
