Association between diabetes mellitus type 2 and cervical insufficiency: a retrospective case-control study

Maternal abnormal glucose tolerance, specifically type 2 diabetes, is linked to cervical insufficiency (CI). Women with type 2 diabetes are eight times more likely to experience CI, increasing the risk of preterm birth.
