Abstract:
In the mid-19th Century, a group of dental practitioners who were not surgeons formed the College of Dentists of England and then the Metropolitan School of Dental Science. They later established the National Dental Hospital, which eventually merged with University College Hospital and Medical School. During this time staff cared for children within and outwith the teaching environment. By the very nature of such a study the information is never complete.
