Summary

Cognitive impairment in white matter hyperintensities (WMHs) is linked to reduced glymphatic function, measured by the diffusion tensor imaging along the perivascular space (DTI-ALPS) index. Lower DTI-ALPS scores correlate with increased WMH volume and cognitive decline.
