Photocatalytic coupling of silyl enol ethers with oxime phosphonates for streamlined β-ketophosphonate synthesis

Abstract:
Phosphinoyl radical generation limits β-ketophosphonate synthesis. We present a photocatalytic method coupling silyl enol ethers with oxime phosphonates. The key radical is efficiently generated via single-electron reduction of oxime phosphonate. The reaction accommodates a wide range of silyl enol ethers, yielding diverse β-ketophosphonates in moderate to good yields.
