Abstract:
Co3O4 and W-Mo15S19 were synthesized respectively by solvothermal method, and then W-Mo15S19/Co3O4 composite was prepared by ultrasonic-assisted synthesis method. The morphology, structure, and composition of W-Mo15S19/Co3O4 composites were investigated by using various characterization techniques such as SEM, XRD, EDS, ICP-OES, and XPS. The electrocatalytic performance of W-Mo15S19/Co3O4, Co3O4, and W-Mo15S19 for methanol oxidation was analyzed through various electrochemical tests. The experimental results show that W-Mo15S19/Co3O4 exhibits good electrocatalytic performance for the methanol oxidation, which is mainly due to the synergistic effect produced by the catalysis property of Co3O4 and the excellent electrical conductivity of W-Mo15S19. Compared with Co3O4 and W-Mo15S19, W-Mo15S19/Co3O4 has a greater current density (23.33 mA cm-2), a faster reaction kinetics, and maintains a good steady state within 12 h.
