High Mortality in Patients Presenting With Periprosthetic Joint Infection and Concomitant Sepsis

Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) with sepsis significantly increases mortality after hip and knee replacement. Patients with PJI and sepsis face a substantially higher risk of death compared to those with PJI alone.
