Abstract:
The folded flap technique is characterized by its straightforward design, high reconstructive versatility, and donor site preservation. It is widely employed across various anatomical regions and is particularly advantageous in oral and maxillofacial surgery for reconstructing Single cavity with bilateral surface defect, while simultaneously minimizing donor site morbidity. This article reviews the folding techniques, design principles, recent advances, and limitations of commonly used flaps in oral and maxillofacial reconstruction. The aim is to facilitate further breakthroughs in both basic research and clinical applications of folded flaps.
