Researchers synthesized novel cocrystals of bromine pentafluoride (BrF5) and hydrogen difluoride (HF2-) salts for the first time. These new compounds reveal unique coordination structures involving BrF5 molecules and discrete [HF2]- and [H2F3]- anions.
