White light-emitting diodes are gaining interest for next-generation lighting and displays due to their energy efficiency and wide applications. Conventional methods primarily combine a blue light-emitting diodes chip with a yellow emitter, or use an ultraviolet chip with red, green, and blue or white emitters. However, short exciton lifetime of light-emitting diodes has challenge in realizing energy-saving lamp and emergency lighting. Herein, an efficient supramolecular-carbon dots hybrid strategy to achieve efficient white emission with long-exciton lifetime is proposed. The 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid and cyanuric acid is employed as a blue-emitting molecular self-assembled room-temperature phosphorescence material, combined with highly efficient N, O-doped orange carbon dots to construct a hybrid phosphorescent system. As expected, a cold white-light emission with Commission Internationale d'Éclairage coordinates of (0.29, 0.34), a correlated color temperature of 7727 K, and a color rendering index of 84 is gained. The prepared light-emitting diodes exhibited distinct afterglow emission even after the power is turned off. The supramolecular-carbon dots hybrid design establishes a new paradigm for high-performance white light-emitting diodes, advanced anti-counterfeiting, and green materials. As a groundbreaking alternative to traditional rare-earth, organic dye, and quantum dot systems, it charts the course for intelligent and sustainable development in advanced materials science.
