Highly strained frameworks have emerged as promising platforms for improving the energy and safety of energetic materials. Herein, three bicyclo[1.1.1]pentane-based energetic compounds bearing nitrogen- and oxygen-rich bridgehead substituents were designed and synthesized. These compounds exhibit low impact sensitivity (>40 J) and friction sensitivity (≥324 N), together with high thermal stability (up to 282.8 °C). The results demonstrate that strained aliphatic cages represent an effective strategy for balancing energetic performance and safety.
