Abstract:
Environmental toxicology relies on aquatic organisms to assess chemical safety, but ethical concerns are growing. We explore how bioprinting could be applied to aquatic models-from Daphnia analogs and bioprinted fish chorions to teleost-on-chip systems-to reduce live animal use while preserving regulatory relevance, highlighting key challenges and future directions.
