This article explores the possibility that radiology may evolve from a standalone specialty into a foundational diagnostic infrastructure within healthcare systems. Rather than diminishing the role of radiologists, this shift may reposition them as architects of imaging systems, responsible for ensuring quality, integration, and clinical impact across increasingly complex care pathways.
