The Influence of Older Age on RBC Transfusion Decisions in ICU Patients

Red blood cell (RBC) transfusion practices in intensive care units (ICUs) do not significantly differ by patient age. However, older patients, particularly those over 85, have higher hemoglobin thresholds and unique transfusion justifications.
