Effectiveness of Matrix Rhythm Therapy on Tissue Level Ultrasonographic Evaluation In Non-Specific Neck Pain: A

Background:
Workplace stress, poor posture, and strained muscles are often associated with non-specific neck pain. This is particularly true for manual labourers, IT specialists, healthcare personnel, and desk workers. Matrix Rhythm Therapy helps restore cellular function by reducing muscle tension, promoting microcirculation, and neuromuscular activation.
Objective:
This study investigates the effects of Matrix Rhythm Therapy and conventional physiotherapy on range of motion, pain, and tissue-level changes in individuals with non-specific neck pain.
Methods:
Thirty-four individuals (18-25 years) with mild to moderate neck pain (Neck Disability Index score 5-24) were randomly allocated to Group A and Group B, with n=17 each. Both received five days of conventional physiotherapy, with Group B also undergoing one Matrix Rhythm Therapy session. Assessments included trapezius muscle thickness and area (ultrasonography), pain threshold (pain pressure algometer), and craniovertebral angle (goniometer) for neck deviations.
Results:
Compared to Group A, Group B demonstrated larger post-treatment decreases in upper trapezius thickness at rest (17.93% vs. 8.91%), trapezius area (33.79% vs. 18.37%), pain (-32.30% vs. -25.29%), and improved craniovertebral angle (-6.39% vs. -3.29%). Within-group analysis revealed substantial improvements in Group B's craniovertebral angle (49.59 ± 5.47 to 52.76 ± 5.62) and pain pressure algometer (5.24 ± 1.17 to 6.93 ± 1.14). The between-group study revealed statistically significant alterations favoring Group B (P = .0001). The effect size study showed a moderate impact (Cohen's d = -0.62).
Conclusion:
The combination of Matrix Rhythm Therapy and conventional physiotherapy showed improved outcomes than physiotherapy alone, in terms of pain relief, trapezius muscle thickness reduction, trapezius area reduction, and craniovertebral angle correction. These findings suggest that Matrix Rhythm Therapy can assist people with non-specific neck discomfort by improving neuromuscular performance, reducing muscle tension, and promoting postural adjustment.
