Abstract:
Approximately 17% of patients with neurosarcoidosis develop peripheral neuropathy, whereas polyradiculopathy is rare, occurring in ∼2% of patients with neurosarcoidosis. Radiculopathy may be associated with dorsal root ganglion (DRG) involvement. We report a case of a 28-year-old man who presented with limb weakness and sensory disturbances. 18 F-FDG PET/CT showed bilateral symmetric hypermetabolic foci in multiple cervical and lumbar DRGs. 18 F-FDG PET/CT was more informative in detecting DRG lesions and mapping their distribution than MRI. Few reports have presented cases of DRG and asymmetric involvement. However, no report has described multilevel and symmetric 18 F-FDG-avid DRGs in sarcoidosis.

Radiological Investigation III: Pulmonary Angiogram and PET Scan
Pulmonary Angiogram
A Pulmonary Angiogram is an invasive procedure involving injecting a contrast medium through a catheter threaded into the pulmonary artery or the right side of the heart to visualize the pulmonary vasculature. Computed Tomography (CT) scans have mainly replaced this...
Positron Emission Tomography
One of the main requirements of a PET scan is a positron-emitting radioisotope, which is produced in a cyclotron and then attached to a substance used by the part of the body...
