In Hirsch (2008J. Phys.: Condens. Matter20235233), it was pointed out that the Meissner effect in superconductors raises an important question that had not been-nor has been to date-addressed within conventional BCS theory: how is angular momentum conserved? The paper proposed two different solutions to this puzzle. Both require important corrections, that we discuss here.
