Abstract:
We developed a novel, gravity-sensing device to measure bending angles of digestive endoscopes, addressing inefficiency and inaccuracy of traditional planar measurement cards. This single-operator tool utilizes a freely rolling ball bearing within a calibrated ring to quantify angles. A multicenter instrument comparison demonstrated that the device significantly improved measurement efficiency and consistency while reducing associated maintenance costs, offering a practical solution for endoscopy unit quality control.
