Treatment Model for Young Patients with Psychogenic Erectile Dysfunction and Resultant Infertility

Objective:
To develop an evidence-based system of diagnostic, treatment, and preventive measures to manage psychogenic mental disorders and sexual dysfunction in women with infertility in need of assisted reproductive technology (ART) programs.
Material And Methods:
The study included 597 patients who received ART The study used history, clinical (psychopathological and sexological), psychometric, molecular, and statistical methods.
Results:
In 354 (59.3%) patients, psychogenic disorders were identified, with the most common being anxiety-asthenic, anxiety-depressive, and anxiety-hypochondriacal variants of neurotic, stress-related, and somatoform disorders (F4). In 109 (18.3%) patients, sexual dysfunction was diagnosed, of which 87 (79.8%) had one sexual dysfunction, and 22 (20.2%) had two or more. Comprehensive programs using computerized medical psychotechnologies have been developed. In 41 (89.1%) patients receiving individual psychotherapy and in 40 (88.9%) patients receiving group psychotherapy, high and medium effectiveness of the psychocorrection was observed.
Conclusion:
This study presented a system of diagnostic and therapeutic measures and algorithms for the treatment of psycho-emotional disorders and sexual dysfunction in women with infertility undergoing ART programs.
