Background and Purpose: Nurse and midwife shortages hinder progress toward universal health coverage in low- and middle-income countries. Turnover intention, a predictor of departure, is underexplored in Arabic-speaking contexts. As reliable measurement is essential for research and policy, this study adapted and validated the Turnover Intention Scale (TIS-6) for Moroccan nurses and midwives. Methods: A cross-sectional survey of 304 public-sector participants was conducted. TIS-6 underwent translation, cultural adaptation, and psychometric testing. Results: Confirmatory factor analysis supported a refined four-item version (Arabic Turnover Intention Scale-4 [A.TIS-4]) with good model fit, reliability, and validity. Of the participants, 72% reported intent to leave, linked to dissatisfaction, workload, higher education, and staffing inadequacy. Conclusions: The A.TIS-4 is valid and culturally relevant. Further evaluation is recommended to confirm stability. Findings also stress workforce retention needs in Morocco.
