Abstract:
Physiological characterization and quality evaluation of seeds stored in germplasm banks is a challenge in seeds that present complex mechanisms of seed dormancy, underdeveloped embryos and/or abundant endosperm. Neutral red staining is proposed as a complementary method to standard viability and germination tests for cellular viability evaluation of Thrinax radiata (Arecaceae) seeds.
