Abstract:
Cardiovascular sensory pathways are essential for maintaining tissue perfusion under physiological perturbation. A new study identifies PIEZO2-positive vagal afferents as candidate cardiac blood-volume receptors that detect reduced filling and trigger protective responses during postural challenge and hemorrhage.
