We report a novel fcc-RuCo@hcp-Ru core-shell catalyst for alkaline hydrogen evolution. Cobalt-induced phase and interface engineering creates a synergistic structure where the core promotes water dissociation and the shell evolves hydrogen. This results in exceptional activity and stability, outperforming commercial Pt/C at industrial-level currents.
