A high soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1 (sFlt-1) to placental growth factor (PlGF) ratio in mothers is linked to a 13-fold increased risk of stillbirth. This angiogenic imbalance may serve as an indicator for pregnancy complications in low-resource settings.
