Late-onset sequelae after right middle and lower lobectomy: a case report

Background:
Surgical resection remains a cornerstone of curative treatment in lung cancer, but delayed complications are under-recognised.
Case Presentation:
We describe a 67-year-old East Asian man who developed an unusual sequence of symptoms months after right middle and lower lobectomy: a posture-dependent triad of palpitations, throat tightness, and nasal congestion; paradoxical weight loss despite hyperphagia; and later neuropsychiatric disturbance associated with chronic respiratory insufficiency. Investigations excluded tumour recurrence and metabolic disorders.
Conclusions:
These observations emphasise the spectrum of long-term sequelae following major pulmonary resection and the importance of vigilant multidisciplinary follow-up.
