Editorial Commentary: Arthroscopic Latarjet: Significant Advance or Triumph of Technology Over Reason

Arthroscopic Latarjet procedures have been described since 2007. While an arthroscopic approach is appealing, there is currently little evidence to support the arthroscopic approach over traditional open Latarjet surgery. Rather than focusing on retrospective series with good results, future surgery should be directed towards defining clear benefits associated with the arthroscopic approach, given the extended learning curve and potential increased risk of complications.
