Summary

Bilateral decompressive craniectomy is a rare but potentially life-saving procedure for severe subdural empyema (SDE) with uncontrollable intracranial pressure. This aggressive surgical approach may be considered in extreme cases when standard treatments fail to manage refractory intracranial hypertension.
